Today, our lovely *Blogging Bride Fiona* tells us about how her charming fiance popped the question!
Our proposal happened on our summer holiday in Tunisia making the date 16.06.2015. It was the second day into the holiday, we had spent the day at the zoo feeding giraffes & holding a baby lion cub!
Followed by a deliciou 5 course dinner, we then went back to the hotel. It was still early evening so we thought we would get dressed up and go for a stroll along the beach and then to the bar for a few drinks… However, by the time we had got ready it had got pretty dark when we got to the beach. I was too scared to go onto it so *luckily* we headed back to the hotel.
As we were walking back, I stopped to take a picture of the hotel lights, I turned round and Tony was on his hands and knees looking for something. I just ignored it and carried on only to look back a few minuets later to see that he was still there. I slowly walked over and asked what he was doing…. ‘Nothing’ he responded. He asked me to get the torch on my phone out but I had no idea what I was looking for!
Eventually he found what he was looking for (the ring!) and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! He had lost the ring for a good 5 minutes! I was in shock and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry….. I cried… A lot! It was the most amazing feeling and totally unforgettable! We didn’t make it out for drinks, as I was too busy looking at the ring and asking him if this was really happening! We went back to our room and I FaceTimed home to tell my family and they were all over the moon! My dad already knew as Tony had asked for his permission.
We spent the rest of our holiday talking about our future and of course soaking up the sun and the amazing views. It was sad to leave Tunisia, as it will always hold a special place in my heart and would love to go back to where it all happened in the future.
Our thoughts are with all the staff at our hotel who had to leave their jobs and go home and to all the people who sadly died in the tragic event that happened shortly after we came home.
