We have a little bit of shoe heaven today with *Ashton Atelier*
The wedding inspiration that we have today is utterly fabulous, ultra glam and perfect for any fashionista bride-to-be! It is the kind of thing that you see on Pinterest and think surely this is too good to be true! *Ashton Atelier* custom paint the soles of your shoes with beautifully charming designs. Your favourite shoes can be transformed into a wearable piece of art and you get to strut in them! Never mind the infamous red soles, *Sparkle Pearls and Lace* has fallen in love with the gorgeous, unique and bespoke *Ashton Atelier* soles. You don’t have to worry about the shoes not being comfy etc, as you get to select your own pair of shoes to send over after agreeing your shoe design. It couldn’t be more simple.
I just love this idea so much and this would be such a lovely treat for the bride! If you are going to splash out on a pair of shoes, then your wedding shoes are probably the best place to start and what better way than having your very own wedding shoe hand-painted! I would want to frame mine after the wedding and have them on display for all to appreciate the pretty. I really love the idea of having your bridesmaid shoes custom painted also and this would make a wonderful bridesmaid present! The artwork is exquisite and the range of possibilities for design are endless to reflect you as a bride – the names of you and your partner, romantic quotes, pet names, pictures of your favourite characters/film/place etc. So whether you want Disney or Star Wars, this would make such a delightful wedding keepsake and would definitely be a pair of shoes to treasure forever! Even if you are not getting married, this is no reason not to have a little piece of shoe heaven, so any special occasion or just because would be perfectly acceptable!

*How did Ashton Atelier begin?*
I’ve always loved art and have been drawing pictures for people ever since I was a little girl. A relative suggested expanding beyond my hometown by joining Etsy with my custom artwork, and I’ve been loving every minute since.
*Where do you get your inspiration from?*
I try to pay attention to trends: color palettes, flower choices and even styles of gowns, and of course my favorite childhood memories.
*Please describe Ashton Atelier in three words*
Sophisticated, fun and fashionable
*Could you please tell us about your custom shoe painting?*
Getting shoes painted is very easy. Based on emails or Etsy convos, I create concept pictures with a couple of designs. Once a design is decided and purchased, I provide an address and ladies then send me their shoes. I let them know when they arrive, send a photo when they’re done and ship them straight back with a tracking number. Depending on when I get their shoes, they could be done in a few days. I also keep in mind the dates for dress fittings, or sometimes the special event or wedding, in case shoes are needed to be returned quickly.
*Could you please tell us about the range of shoe painting designs that you offer?*
There are so many options! Brides can get special phrases, their names, initials, wedding colors, dates, characters or even an image or idea they love. Almost anything is possible. I work very closely with ladies (and sometimes guys) to make sure they get exactly what they’re looking for and love it. I also take special requests. For example, one bride wanted a NYC skyline on the outside of her heels. A first for me, but we both loved them when they were done. Another bride had a Mario Bros theme and wanted it to feature Mario & Princess Peach and her venue.
*What would you recommend for a bride?*
She can never go wrong with her wedding color, names and special dates. I’m currently thinking of including grooms too.
*If a bride wanted to give her bridesmaids custom shoes as a thank you present, what could you offer?*
I have a design especially for bridesmaids so they can wear them after the wedding. They feature the bridesmaid’s name can remember her so everyone name when she walks away, and the bride’s wedding flower so she’ll remember the event. Of course, if you know the bridesmaids’ favorite character, they’ll love that too.
*How does the process work for someone ordering from the UK?*
I love working with ladies in the UK! Most like to buy shoes online and have them sent straight to me. If you’re looking for a specific shoe or want to buy from a US site, I’m happy to join the search and I try to provide some links. 9. How far in advance of the wedding should a bride order? As soon as possible. A safe window should be 3 months for the UK and one month for the US. Shipping is what takes the longest.
*Could you please tell us about how shipping works*
The client pays for the shipping and its usually sent back through the US post office, First Class International, unless I’m asked to ship through someone else. For UK residents, it $25 and above if they’d like them returned faster. Shipping times vary and I’m told it sits in customs for a few days. Sometimes customs fees are charged too.
*Apart from your custom shoe painting, what other products are you able to offer? What could you provide for a wedding present?*
I paint portraits (people & pets) landscapes, sketches on paper and digital illustrations and I’ve even painted on handbags, shot glasses and champagne flutes. I consider any request someone might have.
A huge thanks to Nichole for providing today’s *Pearls of Wedding Wisdom* and giving us just a glimpse into pure shoe heaven!
