Today’s *Sparkle Season* post features *Covent Garden*
On our festive Christmas day into London, we visited the lovely Covent Garden. They always have such fabulous Christmas decorations and they certainly didn’t disappoint again this year! Candy canes, a lego Santa sleigh, giant red baubles, twinkling fairy lights, a silver reindeer, a big red bow and a rainbow coloured Paddington bear create a magical Christmas experience. Please see images of the highlights below:
*Christmas Tree* – the giant tree complete with large red bow sits on the west side of the square and twinkles brightly with fairy lights at night.
*Apple Market* – the covered market is covered with giant red baubles and hosts an antique market.
*Candy Cane Central Avenue* – the twinkling wintery haven is perfect for a spot of festive shopping.
*Mulled Wine* – there is a mulled wine stand in the main shopping arcade perfect to warm you up in the cold.
*Christmas Windows* – the usual Christmas windows take on a festive twist.
*Lego Santa Sleigh* – the usual LEGO Christmas model is impressive once again. Santa sitting in his sleigh pulled by his reindeer is all made out of Lego. You can even climb in the sleigh and have a picture taken or a sleigh selfie.
*Bus Art* – As 2014 is the Year of the Bus, there are several fabulously designed bus models. These will all be auctioned off for charity after the installation.
*Paddington Bear* – there are 50 Paddington bear models that have all been designed by famous people hidden all over London. Two of which are in Covent Garden, great for a photo opportunity! The bears will be auctioned off with all funds going to the NSPCC.
Covent Garden is most definitely worth a visit for some festive fun!
